You will serve as an Intelligence Specialist at the GG-13 grade level within Marine Corps Intelligence Activity, Intelligence Directorate (S2), Asia Pacific Regional Branch in Quantico, VA. You will perform intelligence analysis and production tasks relative to the political, economic, social, cultural, physical, geographic, technical, or military issues within the Indo-Pacific region.

Duties

You will effectively apply extensive knowledge of advanced research methodologies and analytical techniques to complex work assignments. You will analyze and evaluate information in the preparation of threat anti-landing and foreign marine/naval infantry forces studies. You will effectively interact with senior intelligence community/industry/other analysts and/or experts in assigned discipline(s)/focus area(s) and coordinate effectively with foreign counterparts. You will serve as area expert at DoD and Service level wargames. You will prepare and present briefings on assigned area of responsibility for senior level DoD and USMC officials. You will maintain liaison with Service, other intelligence and DoD community members and operational forces in conduct of daily operations. You will serve as point of contact and Subject Matter Expert for all matters dealing with assigned geographic area. You will mentor junior analysts and perform quality control for Section members’ products. You will represent MCIA/USMC at inter-agency and intra-agency forums and international conferences.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period.
  • This position may require a Polygraph Examination.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Travel required for contingency/exercise support, briefings, conferences and training.
  • PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS/GG-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: Evaluating all-source intelligence assessments/products for compliance with Intelligence Community Directive 203. Facilitating and mentoring analysts in the production of all-source intelligence assessments using Structured Analytic Techniques, Analytic Design, and/or other Intelligence Community analytic tools, methods and frameworks. Leading internal or external working groups to address analytic issues.
