This position is on the Law Enforcement Operations Team, Policy Office, Bureau of Justice Assistance, and serves as a Senior Policy Advisor and expert/authority designing and directing efforts involving law enforcement programs relating to officer safety/wellness, officer recruitment and retention, or information/intelligence sharing programs.

MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSQualifying experience for the GS-14 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-13 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include: planned and prepared reports or other documents related to complex criminal justice law enforcement programs relating to officer safety/wellness or officer recruitment/retention or information/intelligence sharing issues for new, substantive agency programs; povided expert analysis and advice on complex criminal justice law enforcement programs relating to officer safety/wellness or officer recruitment/retention or information/intelligence program issues impacting large programs, such as advising on long-range program implementation and administration; devised and implemented new analytical, data driven techniques to evaluate findings, such as establishing criteria to identify and measure criminal justice law enforcement programs relating to officer safety/wellness or officer recruitment/retention or information/intelligence; Served as a technical expert in the evaluation of implementation plans and/or agreements related to criminal justice law enforcement programs relating to officer safety/wellness or officer recruitment/retention or information/intelligence program implementationTECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications as described above will be further evaluated based upon the following technical qualifications:Ability to provide advice and guidance in the design and direction of criminal justice law enforcement programs relating to officer safety/wellness or officer recruitment/retention or information/intelligence implementation, such as on guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, and grants and cooperative agreement policies.Ability to apply analytical, data-driven methods and techniques in the identification and resolution of criminal justice law enforcement officer safety/wellness or officer recruitment/retention or information/intelligence implementation issues.Ability to plan and execute work.Ability to communicate in writing.Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.
