You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST (Section Manager) in the Power and Energy Systems Division (JXM), Undersea & Surface Energy Systems Branch of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $134,435).
Duties
You will oversee the Special Warfare and Expeditionary Systems Department, Power and Energy Systems Division, Undersea and Surface Energy systems Branch, Submarine Valve Regulated Lead Acid (SVRLA) Acquisition and Fleet Engagement Section (JXMTM).
You will be primary contact with major program sponsors of programs that include, but are not limited to: Submarine Valve-Regulated Lead Acid (SVRLA) Battery In-Service Engineering Agent and Acquisition Engineering Agent.
You will be responsible for development of people, execution of workload, organizational initiatives, and customer care.
You will oversee plans that affect the organization's long range strategies, goals, and objectives, and require an analytical approach in order to forecast future trends and outcomes.
You will be responsible for guiding work through other supervisors by means of periodic reviews, briefings, reports, or observations.
You will work closely with other supervisors and managers outside the Branch to advance activity and agency programs.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- Work generally takes place in an office environment and technical laboratory at various locations on Center and may involve travel outside of Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical oversight and direction to manage development and implementation of acquisition strategies for submarine battery systems to support technological advancement of the Naval fleet.
