The position is organizationally aligned under the Associate Chief of Staff-Analytics and Clinical Improvement. Position serves as Program Analyst for the DAAS at the Michael E. DeBakey VAMC and its community based outpatient clinics (CBOCs).
Duties
Duties Include:
Communicate effectively both orally (educating, motivating, persuading, etc.) and in writing (policies, studies, reports, etc.), with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
Apply analytical techniques to analyze and resolve complex problems.
Experience with developing reports with Structured Query Language (SQL) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) in addition make modifications to the reports.
Familiarization and experience with Power Apps, Power BI and Pyramid Analytics for data visualization, dashboards, or reports.
Proficiency with the MS Excel calculations, graphing tools, pivot tables, macro and analyzing data.
Work on projects that are continuous process improvement, gap analysis, eliminating waste with pressing deadlines but are critical to your success outcome.
Develop presentations for leadership based on the analysis of reports from a variety of information systems and ensuring the accuracy of the information delivered.
Utilize analytical, innovative, and creative thinking skills to proactively come up with your own solutions and understand the importance of problem-solving skills.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00 am-4:30 pm, Subject to change based on the needs of the Agency.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/21/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-11) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Respond to inquiries concerning data, data management, data analysis and related systems or software.
Adapt analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to analyze and resolve complex problems.
Communicate effectively both orally (educating, motivating, persuading, etc.) and in writing (policies, studies, reports, etc.), with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
Use of MS SQL Server, Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW), VistA, Power BI, Pyramid Analytics, CPRS, Vista, and VSSC software applications.
Experience with developing reports with Structured Query Language (SQL) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) in addition make modifications to the reports.
Familiarization and experience with Power BI for data visualization, dashboards, or reports.
Proficiency with the MS Excel calculations, graphing tools, pivot tables, macro and analyzing data.
Develop presentations for leadership based on the analysis of reports from a variety of information systems and ensuring the accuracy of the information delivered.
Design and produce analytical reports to a wide variety of constituents, including executive leadership, managers, and line administrative and clinical staff.
