Serve as the Automated Data Processing Applications Coordinator, (ADPAC) to the Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS), Mental Health Service at the Daytona Beach Florida VA.
Duties
Major duties include but aren't limited to:
Responsible for ensuring patches are loaded that effect packages.
Audit data and perform data validation studies, work with other Services, Fiscal (DSS) staff for workload information, procedures and statistics.
Collect and analyze information about the ADP Program's impact on workload of day to day operations and recommends (verbally and in writing) adjustments as needed for implementation of new program, solutions to problems.
Work with IMS in installing, maintain, upgrade this software and test patches.
Serve as the Mental Health Service reference point for troubleshooting/maintaining personal computer hardware and software for new and existing MH Service employees throughout the VA Healthcare System and off-site locations such as the PRRC and the Mental Health Intensive Case Management/RANGE Programs.
Provide training to supervisors, and others as requested on computer and web applications and their interrelated programs.
Review problems reported with regard to Mental Health Service Programs to determine what action is necessary to correct the problem.
Aid in documentation and resolution of software problems with information Management Service (IMS).
Receive, review and evaluate all requests for access to data with Patient Information Management System (PIMS) and Mental Health Service Program options.
Review Service employee menu options to ensure access is limited to job responsibilities and maintained commensurate with changing job responsibilities.
Utilize VISTA and other personal computer packages to provide management with clear, concise ad-hoc reports, summaries and presentations in a visually effective manner.
Plan and carry out assignments and exercise judgment in handling deviations and problems in accordance with established policies and practices of the Mental Health Service.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/12/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: audit data and perform data validation studies; collect and analyze information; test software patches; review and evaluate requests for access to data; plan and carry out assignments; train others on computer and web applications.
Preferred Experience: Advise management of trends and problem areas; Work with Information Management Service in installing, maintaining, and upgrading software and testing patches; Conduct feasibility studies, review historical data and meet with the appropriate personnel to develop the request.

Physical Requirements: The workload is varied, and the work is primarily sedentary with the only physical demands being walking, reaching, bending, stretching, sitting and carrying light loads of supplies. A great deal of time is spent at the computer. Incumbent must be able to manage multiple actives at one time, projecting a work setting that is running smoothly and effectively.
