This position is located in the Prisoner Operations Division, Arlington, VA.
The selectee of this position serves as a Management and Program Analyst. You will be responsible for developmental assignments involving project management, planning, budgeting, program analysis, statistical analysis and reporting, and documenting strategic and Prisoner Operations Division initiatives
Duties
As a Management and Program Analyst at the GS-0343-9 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Researching and analyzing specific problems, issues, and requirements related to the Federal Prisoner Detention Program.
Evaluating the effects of policy constraints, such as legislative, agency requirements, and/or administrative initiatives that impact the effectiveness and efficiency of detention program operations.
Planning analysis related to identifying the needs of the detention program.
Providing advice and assistance to subject matter experts (SMEs) responsible for developing policies and procedures.
This is a developmental position, progressing through the full performance level GS-13.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-0343-09 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualifications:
A. One year of full-time specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade GS-7 in the Federal Service performing duties which include the following: 1) Identifying necessary program improvements and assisting teams responsible for developing changes to practices, policies, or procedures; 2) Assisting in planning and conducting management studies or special projects and draft solutions to management problems; 3) Assisting with the analysis and evaluation on a quantitative or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of programs or operations; 4) Collecting and synthesizing information to respond to various inquiries; and 5) Using the results of program reviews to recommend to the management potential enhancements to operations or possible changes in procedures;
OR
B. Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, examples of qualifying fields include Business Administration. C. Possess a combination of education and specialized experience as listed above. (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS).

Work Environment: The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, libraries, residences, or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirements for one year of full-time graduate study.
