You will serve as an INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST in the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).
All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties
You will collect, analyze, interpret, evaluate and integrate complex data from multiple classified and unclassified sources.
You will perform internal and external collaboration with an enterprise-wide focus.
You will answer requests for information and produce output in the form of intelligence assessments and analytic products for internal and external customers.
You will provide support to DoD CI Enterprise operators to enhance awareness of current and evolving technical intelligence threats.
You will perform tasks regarding the analysis, evaluation, interpretation and dissemination of information primarily in support of criminal operations and investigations.
You will ensure that intelligence data is properly classified, stored and handled in accordance with applicable laws, policies and regulations.
You will proofread and review finished intelligence products for accurate use of grammar and content and to correct any grammatical, spelling, typographical, or compositional errors.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
GG/GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: collecting, analyzing, interpreting and synthesizing intelligence data to identify emerging trends and issues.
GG/GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Collecting, analyzing and assisting with the interpretation and synthesis of intelligence data.

Education
Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
To Qualify for GG/GS-09:
- A master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR
- 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR
- LL.B. or J.D., if related
- A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
To Qualify for GG/GS-11:
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree: OR
- 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR
- LL.M., if related
- A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
