Serve as the Program Support Assistant assigned to Mental Health Services at the Orlando VA Healthcare System. Position requires a broad array of administrative skills to support program staff, service management and is under the direct supervision of the Mental Health Service Supervisory Medical Administrative Specialist and the guidance of the Service Administrative Officer, Mental Health.
Duties
Program Support Assistant is required to perform ancillary duties related to developing, coordinating, promoting, and assuring quality management of organization wide programs in Mental Health. Duties include but are not limited to:
Provides back-up coverage for the Secretary of Mental Health and other Program Support Assistants.
Assists management on various computer and web applications by updating, creating forms, lists, data tracking, and implementation of new processes.
Serves as timekeeper, enters all time, and leave requests in a timely and accurate manner.
Coordinates incoming data from a variety of resources.
Reviews documents, reports, and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is complete and accurate.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/08/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Use a computer to analyze or process incoming forms, records, or other documents; Create and maintain a computerized record system; Monitor computer systems operations to make sure they run properly; Trace transactions from the initial request until items have been received; Keep up with new features in office equipment or procedures; Oversee proper implementation of instructions, policies, or procedures; Revise procedures or methods to improve efficiency; Serve as the service timekeeper, and responsible for correspondence updates, deadlines, tracking, and distribution. Experience with Microsoft and VA systems such as, but not limited to, Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Pyramid, CPRS.

Physical Requirements: The work is generally sedentary, but also involves frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, driving, distributing, and carrying various equipment and office and medical supply items.
