You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Engineering Department of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.

Duties

You will be responsible for technical and repair support of diversified and complex shipboard AEGIS radar systems. You will investigate, analyze and recommend corrective actions for problems pertaining to installation, Maintenace and repair of assigned shipboard combat systems. You will establish and maintain liaison with other commands for coordination of efforts and support. You will interpret various specifications, requirements or directives. You will plan work, set priorities and approve work schedules. You will develop new positions descriptions and develop ranking factors. You will manage branch finances to ensure proper utilization and preclude over expenditures. You will review reports prepared by technical personnel to ensure compliance with administrative and procedural requirements.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical engineering leadership by investigating and recommending solutions for the installation, maintenance, or repair of shipboard combat systems.
