About the Position:
This is a TERM NTE 13 months Logistics Management Specialist position located at Ft. Knox, KY.
This position is being filled as a term position not to exceed 13 months, may be extended up to six years, and may be converted to permanent without further competition. This term position may be terminated earlier than the NTE date at management's discretion.
Duties
Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist in the 1st Theater Sustainment Command (TSC), Support Operations (SPO), Material Management Branch (MMB).
Plans, coordinates, and reviews assigned areas of the logistics support provided to the Aviation Capital Assets across the Central Command (CENTCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Serves as a contracting officer representative (COR) with responsibility for inspection, review and verification of contractor's work efforts and products.
Reviews and directs the implementation of DA and DOD current and future program guidance within assigned areas, having a broad and far-reaching significance on the mission.
Manages the efforts of contractor and government personnel to ensure requirements of the Integrated Logistics Support Plan (ILSP) are performed.
Serves as the Principal Agent within 1TSC SPO MMB on matters involving aviation logistics and related functions including supply, maintenance, training, personnel, transportation, financial management and management information systems.
Requirements
- Secret security clearance required.
- Temporary duty travel (TDY) up to 50% of the time required.
- Travel on military and commercial aircraft to possibly hostile environments required.
- Valid state driver's license required.
- On-call/recall to duty may be required.
- Irregular hours to include weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required.
- This position is designated as Emergency Essential (deployable).
- Pre-deployment physical required.
- One-year term trial period may be required if not already completed.
- This position is term NTE 13 months, may be extended up to six years, and may be made permanent without further competition.

Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience which includes 1) exercising managerial direction over the integration of supply, maintenance, training, fielding, item provisioning and other logistical functions during all phases of the life cycle; 2) directing the implementation of DA and DOD current and future program guidance within assigned areas; 3) Providing oversight of assigned contracts, delivery orders and task orders; and 4) Serving as the Principal Agent within an organization on aviation logistics and related functions.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of the work performed at the next lower level/grade (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
