Job opening: Intelligence Specialist

Salary: $55 924 - 88 926 per year
Employment Type: Full-time
You will serve as an Intelligence Specialist at the GG-07 or GG-09 grade level responsible for performing tasks regarding the analysis, evaluation, collection interpretation or dissemination of information.

Duties

You will assist higher graded analyst in searching, selecting, and compiling for specific intelligence information in preparation of reports for various types of customers. You will utilize basic intelligence principles and methods and established procedures to analyze and evaluate information. You will evaluate relevant material as to its importance, and extracts data pertaining to the assigned subject matter and geographic area. You will identify obvious intelligence gaps, recommends collection requirements to fill gaps, and evaluates the intelligence collected in response to those requirements. You will demonstrate willingness to learn and to improve basic analytical and/or collection management skills including familiarization with assigned region, country, or discipline.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position may be subject to polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period requirement.

Qualifications

GG-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector such as: 1) Assisting with identifying intelligence gaps, recommend specific collection requirements to fill gaps and evaluate the intelligence collected in response to those requirements. 2) Evaluating relevant intelligence material as to its importance, and extract data pertaining to the assigned subject matter. 3) Assisting with searching, selecting, and compiling intelligence information in preparation for reports. or 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree or 1 full year of graduate level education GG-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector such as: 1) Assisting with identifying intelligence gaps, recommend specific collection requirements to fill gaps and evaluate the intelligence collected in response to those requirements. 2) Evaluating relevant intelligence material as to its importance, and extract data pertaining to the assigned subject matter. 3) Assisting with searching, selecting, and compiling intelligence information in preparation for reports. 4) Assisting with the development of completed intelligence analyses and intelligence assessments. or master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GG-07:

4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree
or
1 full year of graduate level education

GG-09:

master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
