About the Position: Serves as the Chief, Test, Measurement & Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) Division, Armament and Electronics Training Department with responsibility for all matters related to the mission and functions of the division. Exercises direct line of authority in formulating, guiding, and managing the training, training development, managerial and personnel functions essential to the accomplishments of the division mission.
Duties
Assists in the establishment of overall administrative, management, and organizational framework for division programs; delegates authority, and responsibility; and allocates resources within broad budgetary limitations.
Incumbent reviews and analyzes the overall responsibilities and objectives of the division for the purpose of establishing, managing, and maintaining effective short and long-range plans and organization for the executing of division programs.
Manage division planning incorporating emerging technologies and equipment systems. Plans the horizontal and vertical integration of these concepts/developments into full range of Army and related interservice training over several fiscal years.
Incumbent assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinates.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing or reviewing of training/course materials, aids, devices, and evaluation of training results; providing detailed instruction, demonstration, and laboratory exercises to develop skills and knowledge in the maintenance and repair of Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and Automated Test Systems (ATS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
