This position is located with the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Directorate, Community Recreation Department, Conference Center Division of the Naval Submarine Base (SUBASE), Kings Bay, Georgia. Incumbent is responsible for scheduling rooms and setting up for conferences, trainings, receptions, and various recreational activities with authorized patrons and for planning and organizing MWR sponsored events. Must live within 50 miles of Zip Code 31547.

Duties

Incumbent is responsible for the operation of the Kings Bay Conference and Party Rental Center. Responsibilities include meeting with prospective patrons to determine their wants and needs for various activities to include conferences, trainings, meetings, receptions and planned MWR activities. Incumbent is responsible for completing the forms for rentals of rooms and rental equipment. Responsible for all funds for assigned area, i.e. cash fund, rental fees, etc. Responsible for preparing Daily Activity Report (DAR), and depositing receipts daily. Provides assistance in planning annual budget. Ensures the proper control of the facility for use by all authorized patrons. Incumbent acts independently with little supervision to ensure spaces and services needed are reserved and prepared for scheduled events/parties. Directs personnel as to when set-up and clean-up staff would be needed. Monitors operation of assigned area of responsibility, periodically checking to identify and resolve problems, which may arise. Enforces rules. Assists in maintaining daily cleaning of the Conference Center storage area, linens storage, kitchen area, rental areas (rooms), rest rooms, etc. Assists in planning, coordinating, and implementing MWR sponsored events, i.e. Halloween Party, Breakfast with Santa, cookouts, etc. Performs other related duties which may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
  • May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
  • Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
  • Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.

Ability to learn organization's functions and procedures sufficient to meet with patrons in person or transact business by phone. Ability to read and interpret specific procedural guides such as instructions, manuals, established policies and procedures for assigned tasks which are directly applicable to the work.
