You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (APPSW) in the NAVFAC Information Technology Center (NITC).

Duties

You will direct and/or support teams of subject matter experts, technical specialists, and support staff. You will monitor project activities and resources to mitigate risk and deliver superior products and services. You will develop and present briefings to peers, upper management, and business line leader staffs on complex IT issues, project status, and recommended course of action. You will facilitate quarterly audits to document compliance or non-compliance with established standard operating procedures. You will develop, evaluate, and deliver Cm Metric reports and data calls.

• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail -Planning Business Systems implementation, functional change, upgrade, sustainment, and disposal projects. 2. Customer Service - Reviewing, researching, and documenting customer's configuration management project scopes, requirements, and deliverables. Monitoring project activities and resources to mitigate risk and deliver superior products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Developing and presenting briefs on complex IT issues, project status, and recommending course of action. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following: 1) Transforming applications and systems to utilize current technologies and methodologies to meet new business and regulatory requirements. 2) Administering information technology systems to ensure effective system operation. 3) Providing functional and/or technical support to customers to ensure validation of requirements and delivery of Information Technology capabilities. 4) Defining the information technology specifications needed to execute tasks to support end user functional requirements. 5) Supporting mid-tier applications (e.g. Oracle) using operating systems like Linux, or Windows.
