NEH is an independent grant-making agency of the government dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities.
The principal role of the Office of Grants Management is to ensure uniform administration of grants and cooperative agreements throughout the agency, develop and implement related policy, and provide expertise in federal financial assistance management to complete the program. Also, the office is responisble for ensuring that botth NEH.
Duties
Reviewing applications recommended for offer, award, or supplemental funding.
Ensuring that all required grant documentation is complete and in compliance with governing authorities.
Reviewing the application budget for mathematical accuracy and compliance with NEH legislation, 2 CFR Part 200 and NEH programmatic requirements.
Negotiating budget revisions as necessary with applicants.
Preparing conditions and provisions for offer letters, awards, and notices of supplemental funding.
Writing clauses specific to an individual award action.
Preparing information in the electronic grants management system in accordance with established procedures.
Monitoring active awards by tracking the timely submission of required financial and performance reports.
Reviewing financial reports and resolves issues.
Reviewing and processing post-award requests for amendments, extensions and supplements to awards in accordance with established procedures.
Reviewing assigned notices of funding opportunity.
Working in a team environment and provides assistance to NEH program and administrative staff, recipients and applicants in clarifying and implementing the governing authorities applicable to particular awards.
Ensuring timely close-out of awards and processing of related de-obligation actions.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
At the GS-11 level Qualified candidates must possess:1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level or equivalent experience.
Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: Reviewing grant applications and managing a grant portfolio; Interpreting routine grants-related policies and procedures; Monitoring grantees' continuing operations to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the grant award; Providing information to applicants and grantees on the grants process, regulatory requirements, and issues surrounding individual applications; Reviewing and negotiating budgets with applicants.
