This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). OJJDP provides national leadership, coordination, and resources to prevent and respond to juvenile delinquency and victimization. The incumbent will support the mission through supporting states and communities to develop and implement coordinated prevention and intervention programs and to improve the juvenile justice system.
Duties
As a (Supervisory Grants Management Specialist) you will be responsible for the following duties:
Supports the mission of OJJDP through supporting states and communities in their efforts to develop and implement effective and coordinated prevention and intervention programs and to improve the juvenile justice system so that it protects public safety, holds youth appropriately accountable for their conduct, and provides treatment and rehabilitative services tailored to the needs of juveniles and their families.
Oversees and promotes the success of grant-funded projects through the provision of authoritative technical expertise, advice, and guidance to funding recipients to promote project success and compliance with applicable federal grant management requirements.
Supervises a group of employees performing work at the GS-13 level and below. Provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit.
Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members, which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system.
Plans and manages grant and/or cooperative agreement programs and processes that encompass difficult and diverse functions or issues that affect critical aspects of major agency line programs.
Recommends long-range policies and guidance, as well as program plans, goals, objectives, and milestones.
Oversees and advises on grants and/or cooperative agreement administration matters including all pre and post- award procedures and policy interpretation.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Examples of specialized experience include:
-Oversees the end-to-end grants and/or agreement administration process related to juvenile justice.
-Advises on grants and/or cooperative agreement administration matters including all pre and post-award procedures and policy interpretation related to juvenile justice.
-Leads or manages grants management activity and coordination with staff related to juvenile justice.
-Develops, implements, and evaluate grants management program plans, strategies and operations related to juvenile justice.
