You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Main Propulsion Branch of the Engineering Department of SOUTHEAST REG MAINTENANCE CTR SERMC.
Duties
You will lead investigations involving malfunctions and operational problems of the most modern, complex and extensive Main Propulsion Plant equipment in the Navy today.
You will submit long-term technical improvement recommendations for systems under the Branch's cognizance.
You will develop internal policies and procedures.
You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, work difficulty and employee knowledge and capabilities.
You will use initiative and judgment based on experience to develop solutions to problems.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
*Experience providing supervisory duty and management of Main Propulsion (MP) personnel, including assigning work, approving leave, establishing training, and evaluating performance.
*Experience reviewing entire branch's technical proposals to include improvements in maintenance, repair, design, and reliability of shipboard Main Propulsion Plant systems and providing repair recommendations and courses of action for propulsion plant equipment.
*Experience providing technical services on diesel engines during maintenance availabilities to resolve functional problems.
*Experience analyzing malfunctions and operational problems of propulsion plant equipment.
*Experience training branch and/or ship's force personnel in the proper use, maintenance and repair of propulsion plant equipment.
*Experience writing technical assistance debriefs reports detailing failure analysis, repair actions and parts requisition for propulsion plant equipment.
*Experience recommending life cycle supportability improvements in propulsion plant systems, to include design improvement, assessment improvements, repair process and procedure improvement, technical documentation improvements, and technical training improvements.
