About the Position: Acquisition and Business Specialists provide advice, guidance, and support to Army Contracting Command - Redstone Arsenal contracting staff and mission partners for the effective use of various strategic source vehicles to meet acquisition needs.

Duties

Serve as a subject matter expert in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing and other acquisition solutions. Provide acquisition planning and market research support, participates in procurement planning meetings to advise program officials of recommended strategies, and assists mission partners in the development of Contract Requirements Packages (CRP). Recommend changes to guidance and/or procedures based upon research evaluations of acquisition policies, Category Management spend and other related data and/or trends. Exercise judgment in performance of research, analysis and strategy execution of solutions that offer efficiencies to the acquisition and business management process relative to the implementation of Category Management principles. Advise organization on matters pertaining to acquisition, contracting, and program management procedures. Serve as an industry/mission partner support liaison on behalf of ACC-RSA, advising industry and customer representatives on matters related to strategic sources and solutions deployed. Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Foundational Certification or Contracting Professional within 36 months of entrance on duty.
  • Must submit Financial Disclosure Report, OGE 450, upon entry into position and annually thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.
  • Business travel required 5% of the time.
