You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the Pipe Shop (Code 960), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will coordinate the keeping of shop/code training plans current and check for adequacy. You will audit shop trade theory/core tasks records and qualification records for conformance with established guidelines. You will establish metrics to identify material costs. You will coordinate the procurement, storage, and use of instructional materials and textbooks, audio-visual aids, training devices, and lab equipment. You will maintain a comprehensive electronic file of Mechanic Training Folders both old and new.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience developing, initiating, scheduling, and implementing programs for the development of personnel. Experience developing methods for analyzing and tracking Continuing Training and Development program. Experience providing practical application of subject matter theory integrated with safety, nuclear and non-nuclear ship repair, equipment procurement, and other requirements. Experience incorporating latest developments and integrating subjects into instructions to maintain state of art training. Experience researching, developing and improving course material. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related

or

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
