About the Position: This position supports the mission of J-8, Financial Operations Division (FOD) and is located in Falls Church, VA. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized.

Duties

Work closely with managers to identify significant budget or procedural problem areas, gather pertinent data, evaluate findings and recommend corrections and or appropriate courses of action. Perform financial management support functions by providing assistance in Budget Execution, Financial/Accounting Reconciliation and Reporting Service. Provide advice and guidance covering a wide variety of financial policies and requirements. Independently investigate a variety of technical finance and accounting problems/ situations with analytical responsibility for recommending alternative actions, corrections, or solutions. Interpret regulations and directives promulgated by higher authority and uses this information to establish, prepare, and disseminate policy and guidance to customers.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• DoD Financial Management Certification Level 3 is a requirement of this position and must be achieved by the incumbent within two years of entrance into this position.
