This position is in the Office of Inspector General Executive Office, Operation Controls and Compliance (OIG/EX/OCC). OCC performs formal assessments of the internal controls over the administrative and financial processes managed by Executive Office and is the system owner of the OIG's integrated management information system (MIS).

Duties

The incumbent's primary duty is to serve as OIG's Records Officer. Works closely and proactively with all OIG stakeholders, as well as the Department, National Archive and Records Administration (NARA), and other relevant external stakeholders as appropriate, to accomplish OIG records management in accordance with the NARA approved records schedule. OCC promotes government accountability while protecting the interests of the public and mitigating records-related litigation risks.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:  Experience researching and evaluating guidelines and regulations to make recommendations for changes to Records Management processes and procedures. Experience providing technical guidance on Records and Information Management policies, regulations, and procedures. Experience in providing training, leading projects and working groups to improve compliance with Records Management requirements. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
