About the Position: The incumbent serves in a position as Deputy for PPMD. Additionally performs as a project manager responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, development, design, construction, and direction of major projects. Applies an extensive knowledge of management concepts, principles, methods, and practices as well as knowledge of methods, practices, and processes of engineering and science disciplines.

Duties

Serves as Deputy to the Chief, Programs and Project Management Division. Fully shares in the direction and management of the Programs and Project Management Division (PPMD) to include administrative, technical work, and for delivery of projects. Allocates funds to accomplish planning, design, and construction in accordance with agreed upon budgets and schedules. Exercises full spectrum of personnel management responsibility in administering subordinate professional, technical, administrative, and clerical positions under PPMD. Serves as the supervisor of the Management Support Team and as senior rater for all such senior rated employees in the division, except for senior project managers and branch chiefs. Makes work assignments, furnishes advice and instructions pertaining to technical aspects of the work, and coordinates the mission of the subordinates with functional elements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) travel is 10% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • The incumbent may be required to take part in preparedness training exercises or other training activities.
  • The incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08) upon entering the position and annually.
  • Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or an Architect (AIA) or Certification with the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is required for this position.
  • IAW ER 690-1-1-1212 Professional Registration as a selective placement factor, dtd 31 March 2004 a professional license is required for this supervisory position.
