You will serve as a OPERATIONS PLANNER (MARITIME HOMELAND DEFENSE) in the FLT POLICY DIVISION of COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND.
Duties
You will develop operational plans, which support maritime homeland defense (MHD), campaign plans, or defense support to civil authorities (DSCA) in accordance with the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP) and Navy Planning Process (NPP).
You will serve as principle advisor and subject matter expert for the proper integration of Navy capabilities into homeland defense plans for USNORTHCOM.
You will provide planning support for the generation of USFF/USNAVNORTH service and functional component supporting plans, concepts of operation (CONOPS), and orders.
You will serve as a member of the Future Plans Center (FPC) in the USFF/NAVNORTH/NAVSTRAT MOC.
You will participate on, and when required direct, the efforts of operational planning teams (OPT) and provide planning process subject matter expertise to cross functional teams (CFT) as required.
You will review operational planning performed by subordinate commands to ensure they are properly responsive to higher headquarters policy and guidance.
You will participate in reviews of Joint and Service doctrine publications, specifically as they relate to the employment of Navy MHD capabilities.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-1 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience, skill, and understanding of the Navy Planning and Operations Assessments processes.
Knowledge and understanding of all reference material (such as JP 5-0 and NWP 5-01), in order to analyze the operational environment, identify indicators, anticipate decision points, and recommend operations to reduce operational risk.
Ability to brief senior leadership on planning and assessment products.
