About the Position: This position is for a Military Analyst (Missile Defense Service Battery) with the US Army Space & Missile Defense Command, located at Fort Carson, Colorado. The US Army Space & Missile Defense Command is participating in an alternate personnel system known as the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). Duties

Serves as a team leader, project leader and/or technical specialist for USASMDC, 1st Space Brigade operations related to missile warning/defense. Responsible for developing and reviewing operations, concepts, and initiatives for 1st Space Brigade missile warning/defense. Conduct analysis of the Missile Defense Service Battery (MDSB) performance during utilization as well as daily reporting. Provide expert consultation and advice to leaders of the following organizations: 1st Space Brigade, USASMDC, service component leadership, combatant commands, joint staff, Department of Defense agencies, and contractors assigned to the mission area. Develop and implement 1st Space Brigade operating and/or organizational concepts, TTPs, experiments, demonstrations, or other similar initiatives.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A pre-employment and recurring comprehensive
  • background investigation that includes, but is not limited to, contact with all references, employers, co-workers, personal associates, and a review of your driving record, credit history, criminal history, and military service are required.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Occasional Temporary Duty (TDY) may be required.
