DUTIES:
Lead, manage, direct, or is responsible for activities either directly, or in support of, DoD funded acquisition efforts. Direct and coordinate the collective efforts of a multi-disciplined staff of military, civilian, and / or contractors assigned to a program.
Support leadership in tracking and supporting the directorate and other stakeholders to achieve directorate objectives.
Support leadership in establishing communication lines with stakeholders and ensure a consistent message is transmitted with nuclear delivery stakeholders that is in line with SECAF objectives.
Identify and resolve highly complex problems crossing organizational boundaries and promulgate solutions.
Proactively develop and present briefings and reports to Senior Executives regarding strategic communications and Organize, Train & Equip efforts.
Execute Program Manager duties and responsibilities as required.

- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework"
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance.
- Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
- Employee may be required to work overtime.

- This is an Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program. The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
- Applicant must possess or obtain a Practitioner certification in Program Management in accordance with the position description and engage in continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning Points every 24 months.

To qualify as an Acquisition Program Manager, employee must meet the education and specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/1100/general-business-and-industry-series-1101b/
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes the following tasks: Assessing the progress of assigned projects or Acquisition Category (ACAT) programs via cost estimates, schedules, and performance supportability baseline requirements using established methods and procedures; Planning, organizing, and coordinating activities related to contracting, engineering, manufacturing, program control, configuration/data management, testing, financial management, and logistics processes; Reviewing and directing the progress of contractors in meeting program objectives; Preparing briefings, studies, and other presentations to management officials and/or stakeholders.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1.Knowledge of laws, principles,-policies. and practices of systems acquisition and program management.
2. Knowledge of business, industrial management, contracting procedures, technical concepts, and production
practices to evaluate contractor proposals and activities.
3. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of
Defense, Air Force, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition
process and integrated life cycle management.
4. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
5. Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with individuals and groups within the office as well as
outside the immediate work unit.
