Duties
The Land of Enchantment is calling you! Do you have previous experience working large dollar acquisitions and ACAT equivalent programs? Do you desire empowerment, flexibility, and small team environments? Our small program manager teams have a dedicated Contracting Officer with over a $1 Billion dollar authority, streamlining our capability to deliver first of kind capabilities to the United States Space Force. Is your past job experience with an acquisition or program office-we highly desire this experience. We need someone who understands acquisition strategies and plans, and has the innate ability to work in a classified environment and doesn't mind travel to the various industry and mission partners we work. We desire strong oral and written skills and the ability to brief contract issues with very senior personnel in the USSF, SAF/SQ or Congressional Staffs. The prefect candidate is able to work independently and collaborate with military, civilian and contract personnel to be successful. Must have a TS/SCI (in-scope) clearance and pass a drug test is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Supports the SML's management of a portfolio of projects/programs throughout the acquisition cycle, often with no closely related precedents
- Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates activities of functional specialists including contracting, engineering, program control, test, and logistics
- Leads a team of highly talented, hand-picked acquisition professionals (military, civilian, support contractor)
- Represents the organization at executive levels within the Executive Branch, presents programmatic and budget information to Congressional staffers and members, and works with senior contractor/industry representatives
- Interfaces with organizations throughout the space and military community to leverage shared development, funding, and resources
Previous experience as an acquisition program manager and past experience working large-dollar Space acquisitions highly desired; previous experience as a General Engineer in the Space domain may supplement the acquisition program manager experience.
DAWIA Program Manager Advanced desired (or waiver with ability to achieve in 24 months)
Strong background in space acquisition highly desired
Ability to independently make decisions in line with the director's strategic intent
Previous SPO experience preferred
Strong written/oral skills
