Duties
You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with responsibility for providing technical assistance onboard US Navy ships, functional checks, and material condition assessment of compressed air systems.
You will perform special engineering analyses and studies in support of Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMPACFLT) and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to evaluate maintenance procedures, material readiness conditions, etc.
You will prioritize work, resolve conflict, attend and participate in briefings.
You will review compressed air systems maintenance procedures, assess material condition, and provide recommendations.
You will resolve identified problems with overall system operation and documentation.
You will have a primary responsibility of familiarizing ship's force compressed air systems operations providing maintenance personnel technical solutions in troubleshooting finding, etc.
Requirements

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position requires the incumbent to be willing and able to work onboard ships.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing engineering disciplines (such as electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, structural, etc.) by providing and resolving shipboard system problems to ensure efficiencies on subsystems.
