About the Position: Incumbent will serve as an Administrative Support Specialist, in the Civilian Human Resources Division in a Military Treatment Facility under Defense Health Agency.. Duty location is Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson Colorado.
Duties
Assists and advises supervisors and administrators on personnel actions procedures.
Reviews all requests for personnel action to ensure positions are supportable.
Reviews all submissions to ensure that required justification is provided.
Works closely with individual supervisors, department/division chiefs, and other staff offices to shepherd actions through the administrative
review and approval process.
Briefs management of status and requirements in completing personnel actions on approved requests.
Coordinates with the CHRA to ensure that staffing priorities are observed, and that personnel policies and requirements are properly addressed.
Obtains periodic updates from CHRA, tracks actions, and report findings to supervisor for action.
Works closely with Manpower Analysts to verify authorizations, requirements, and funding for personnel actions being submitted for approval.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) performing a variety of administrative management support functions; 2) proficient with Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and Teams; 3) applying fact finding and investigative techniques; 4) managing database programs to track and integrate statistical and informational data; 5) effectively communicates with leadership and customers through email, phone, and in person; 6) providing administrative advisory services to managers; & 7) familiar with civilian personnel actions and systems like DCPDS, Autonoa, and Empress. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business, Human Resources, Management. (You must attach a copy of your transcripts).

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (You must attach a copy of your transcripts).
