This position is located in the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Programs Office. This office administers state, local, tribal, and territorial grant programs. It acts as BJA's direct line of communication to states, local jurisdictions, territories, and tribal governments by providing customer focused grants management support and careful stewardship over federal funds. The incumbent will serve as one of 12 Division Chiefs.

Requirements

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Qualifying experience for the GS-14 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-13 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of experience include implementing and managing Federal grants and cooperative agreements, and providing grants-related assistance and services, such as developing and implementing grants/assistance management policies, procedures, and practices; performing final review of award deferral or disallowance recommendations to determine soundness and supportability of a proposed decision; and performing close-out actions for major grants/agreements after several years of work had been expended. TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications as described above will be further evaluated based upon the following technical qualifications:Ability to supervise.Ability to plan and execute work. Ability to communicate in writing. Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing. Knowledge of financial methods, procedures, and practices used in grants and cooperative agreements.
