You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Specialized Muntions (JXR), Special Warfare & Expeditionary Systems Department (JX) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $134,435).
Duties
You will serve as the section manager for JXRNL, Lake Glendora Operations Section in the Range Branch (JXRN), Specialized Munitions Division (JXR).
You will provide supervisory oversight to employees that provide full spectrum workload of explosive handling including above and below surface testing events.
You will oversee Test and evaluation for energetic devices and demolition products, to include airborne countermeasures, smoke and flare signals, explosive initiation systems, grenades, demolition products, and various inert accessories.
You will develop continuous process improvements to meet or exceed customer expectations.
You will continuously monitor explosive safety and remaining cognizant of the hazards and risks associated with the daily work performed at Lake Glendora Test Facility.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- Work generally takes place in an office environment and technical laboratory at various locations on Center and may involve travel outside of Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assessing technical engineering concepts and practices to lead or manage the designing, conducting, or test and evaluation of explosive components while ensuring compliance with explosive safety and technical requirements.
