About the position: This position will be assigned to the Community Center This position is considered Regular Full Time. The position is guaranteed 40 hours. As a regular employee, you are eligible for accrued leave and benefits, including medical, life insurance, 401(k), and retirement.

Duties

The incumbent plans and carries out the successive steps and handles problems and deviations in the work assignment in accordance with instructions. policies. previous training. or accepted practices in the occupation. Plans, organizes. directs. and manages the operations of the Buckley Community Center program. Determines work to be accomplished by subordinates. Provides technical guidance to lower graded assistants. Sets and adjusts short-term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work. Develops performance standards and evaluates work performance of subordinates. Interviews candidates for positions in the Community Center. Selects. promotes, or reassigns subordinates to such positions. Approves leave. Initiates disciplinary actions as appropriate. Supervise APF, NAF, volunteers, and contract staff. Provides oversight of food and beverage operations, catered events. multipurpose and CAC rooms, reservations, and classes. Plans and coordinates details of recurring and non-recurring activities. special events and joint community undertakings to make maximum use of facilities. services. and other resources. Plans and develops a publicity program. Coordinates and integrates center activities with related base and local organizations. and arranges for jointly sponsored programs with a variety of recreational agencies. Maintains active, up-to-date reference file of information on entertainment, educational, religious, social or theatrical talent, or events available within the local community. Point of Contact for open house, talent contests, mystery theater, and core/enhanced community activities programs. Provides management oversight of food/beverage and lounge operations. Supervises food/beverage and lounge operation employees. Develops menus based on staff/facility capabilities and customer desires. Develops and ensures use of recipe cards. cost cards and similar management tools to ensure consistency and efficiency of operations. Maintains appropriate inventory levels to maximize service but minimize waste. Evaluates operation and makes adjustments based on information harvested from operating statements, point of sale system, and other available data tracking systems. Ensures ORAM Shop training requirements and practices are adhered to. Integrates food/beverage and lounge services arc integrated into Community Center program offerings. Creates catering options to provide food/beverage service to special functions and groups. both on and off-site. Maintains NAF financial viability or recommends changes to leadership to correct financial deficiencies. Evaluates the effectiveness of ongoing activities and adapts and varies programs as a result of findings. Assesses short and long term needs, desires, and trends. Interviews and interacts with customers to establish user needs and requirements. Ensures program/facility meets all certification requirements. Writes policies and procedures manuals for operation of facilities. Evaluates equipment and makes necessary repairs or purchases. Arranges for supplies and services needed to accomplish scheduled activities. Accounts for funds and makes recommendations for improvements. Prepares budgets, tracks and analyzes expenditures and assures accounting of all funds and assets. Maintains records and complies data for reports. Solicits and selects volunteers for activities. Assists in providing training to volunteers and guidance and leadership to the various center activities and participants. Instructs participants in those activities for which employee has technical expertise. Must work an uncommon tour of duty which includes nights and weekends. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. May be required to operate a government vehicle in performance of duties. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in and knowledge of a wide variety of the principles. concepts. and techniques of the operations of community programs such as would be gained through experience in planning and conducting a social recreational program which enables the incumbent to plan and conduct a large diversified and greatly enhanced social and recreational program. Must have knowledge of the wide range of concepts. principles. and techniques relating to community programs and ability to adapt the program as necessary to meet customer demand. Must have skills in the application and utilization of such knowledge in planning and carrying out a program which meets the needs of a multi-service community. Must have skills in developing new methods. approaches. and procedures for the most effective management of community programs of a large size. scope, and complexity. Must have skills in organizing. instructing. and carrying out a wide variety of programs and services. Must have skills and experience in managing a diverse food and beverage operations to include cafe, short-order grill, buffet, and catering services. Must have knowledge of a wide range of appropriated and non-appropriated fund financial management principles involved in receipting and protecting various monies. purchasing, marketing. and long range forecasting as directly related to the Air Force Community Center Program. Must have exceptional skill and ability in the area of program/financial management. Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI). Position is a Position of Trust. Must be able to speak. read. and write English fluently. Must have a valid state driver license. "This is a drug testing designated position. Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
