About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
Duties
Develops, maintains, and monitors all reporting requirements both internal and external to the depot linked to financial operations.
Coordinates with other entities within the depot and outside the depot to finalize any interrelated data information.
Develops and formulates the internal operating budget (IOB) for Maintenance Directorates.
Reviews, analyzes, and interprets a wide variety of directives, regulations, and other material received from higher authority pertinent to budget program preparation, presentation, and execution.
Plans, develops, and conducts program analysis concerning all aspects of current or projected operating programs for actual or potential effectiveness in achieving planned goals and objectives within all maintenance mission directorates.

- One-year probationary period may be required
- Must meet all requirements for financial management level 2 certification within 24 months of being placed on the position.
- Must meet all requirements for data analytics level 2 certification within 24 months of being placed on the position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service which includes experience with budget preparation and execution for the maintenance directorate operations. Knowledge of the organization, the production activity and its relationships to both staff and support activity. Knowledge of pertinent laws, policies, regulations, instructions and procedures governing production operations which affects the use of program and related support resources. Incumbent must have the ability to interpret technical data and instructions and relate them properly to the assigned project.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
