About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
Duties
Prepare and coordinates briefings on maintenance programs and responses to investigative audit and survey findings including GAO, AAA, IG, and Internal Review Reports.
Interpret guidance from higher authority and issues implementing instructions and procedures to ensure compliance.
Study and interprets technical manuals, trade magazines and other industrial type data on new developments in methods and techniques.
Serve as Supervisor, Mission Systems Division, with responsibility for initiating actions necessary to accomplish the implementation of automated systems projects, Complex Assembly Manufacturing System (CAMS), or any other automated systems.
Conduct formal technical training for assigned areas, electronics, and weapons.
Administer the personnel management for the assigned employees.
Review and resolves employee problems on actions pertaining to such matters as assignments, working conditions, etc.
Periodically reviews job descriptions of assigned employees on detail for currency and accuracy.
Maintain liaison with higher authority and other government agencies by correspondence, telephone, teletypes and/or field trips concerning mission capabilities, policies, plans and other matters affecting the assigned mission.
Ensure that subordinates are adequately informed of their responsibilities concerning hazardous materials/waste within the work area.

Specialized Experience is equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which includes experience with budget preparation and execution for the maintenance directorate operations. Knowledge of the organization, the production activity and its relationships to both staff and support activity. Knowledge of pertinent laws, policies, regulations, instructions and procedures governing production operations which affects the use of program and related support resources. Incumbent must have the ability to interpret technical data and instructions and relate them properly to the assigned project.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
