About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain half way between Atlanta, Georgia, and Birmingham, Alabama, just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
Duties
Provide expertise to technical specialists within the industrial complex.
Review job descriptions for currency and accuracy according to Army procedures.
Administers a variety of management programs to the organization such as safety, cost reduction and incentive awards within policies and procedures established by higher authority.
Participate with Director in the total implementation of technical planning and technical review of assigned mission workload from a production control viewpoint.
Serve as consultant and technical advisor to the Directorate of Production Management on the overall aspects of the production control function.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a data analytics requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for data analytics level 1 certification within 12 months of being placed on the position.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management?s (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience:I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes: developing procedures to improve the functions of the individual directorates; providing leadership to branch chiefs and team leaders in determining personnel requirements for assigned missions and analyzing production processes. This includes a working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. Analyzes technical problems, develops solutions, and makes informed decisions regarding repairs and replacements. Planning and scheduling for optimizing maintenance activities. Experience in developing comprehensive maintenance plans that outline the tasks, resources, and timelines. Develop schedules that balance maintenance & corrective actions while prioritizing critical tasks. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
