You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Logistics Plans/Ops Branch, G-4 Division of MARFORCOM NORFOLK.

Duties

You will provide planning support for and will participate in naval/amphibious exercises. You will review and update expeditionary operations concepts, doctrine, publications and orders. You will plan conferences associated with expeditionary and amphibious operations and afloat/ashore based prepositioning programs. You will review logistics initiatives to identify potential integration opportunities among the Naval Services. You will participate in the planning and coordination for pre-staging of equipment and supplies in response to crisis or destructive weather situations.

Requirements

  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing planning support of expeditionary and amphibious operations; reviewing and updating Naval operational logistics concepts, doctrines, and initiatives; AND planning and coordination of equipment and supplies needed in the event of a crisis or destructive weather event for an organization. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree

OR

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

OR

LL.B. or J.D., if related
