You will serve as a General Business & Industrial Specialist in the Project Office of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.
Duties
You will coordinate, monitor, and expedite the efforts of the SUPSHIP office and supporting NAVSEA activities throughout the ship construction period focusing on events necessary to ensure timely ship delivery.
You will monitor activities and problems confronting the shipbuilder, certification and classification agencies, various SUPSHIP Gulf Coast, and SUPSHIP Gulf Coast Mobile Detachment directorates by conducting regular conferences.
You will establish and maintain effective communication and liaison with other process groups.
You will develop and provide comprehensive and timely management reports, briefings and presentations to the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Ship's Acquisition Program Manager and other key Government activities.
You will coordinate the accomplishment of authorized new or modified work by the Contractor.
You will initiate contract change action, including technical scope preparations.
You will manage assigned change budgets to ensure the availability of funding.
You will participate in preparations for compartment inspections and all milestones, including Launch, Builder Trials (mock-INSURVs), Acceptance Trials, transits, dry dockings and other special events.
You will function as the principal point of contact between Ship's Force, certification and classification agencies, the SUPSHIP Gulf Coast organization and the Contractor from start of construction thru delivery and subsequent ship departure.
You will coordinate with Ship's Force and Contractor, as necessary, to de-conflict crew activities and any ongoing contractor work.
You will provide coordination, guidance, and assistance to the Ship's Force relative to crew move aboard, ship loadout and other ship/crew integration activities.
You will manage the correction of deficiencies identified during the construction, installation and test and trials period, through the post construction/delivery period and continuing through the start of the Post Shakedown Availability (PSA).

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector coordinating project requirements (e.g., contracting, resource allocation, manpower, strategic planning, risk assessments, production assessments, conflict resolution, project planning and schedules, workforce performance, budgeting, logistics, quality assurance, and financial management) for the construction, testing, trial, certification, or delivery of surface ships or submarines.
