You will serve as a Ship Delivery Process Manager in the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Project Office of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.

Duties

You will coordinate the Ship Delivery Process Team's participation during ship trial evolutions, Builders Dock Trial (BDT), Builder's Sea Trial (BST), Acceptance Trial (AT), Final Trial (FCT), Post-Shakedown Availabilities and Post Repair Trial. You will act as the Trials Cards Manager for the Ship Delivery Production Process Team. You will coordinate and act as liaison for all ship delivery related efforts between SUPSHIP codes, the project office, the program executive office, the contractors and Ship's force. You will manage the Production Process Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) ship trials discrepancy documentation evolution and participation in the problem resolution. You will coordinate the development of recommended technical positions/resolutions for trial cards. You will represent the Process at the various trail card and ship system certificate screening conferences. You will manage the resolution efforts of all trial cards. You will lead SUPSHIP trial card writing efforts to product quality trial cards. You will manage trial card related metrics with the assistance of trial card support team. You will conduct evaluations and investigations of design and engineering problems which arise during construction, and test and trials evolutions. You will coordinate the efforts of all required entities to bring all identified issues to resolution and closure. You will serve as the point of contact for all trial card issues within the SUPSHIP organization.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing guidance or advice on trial card processes or events to support the testing, design, certification, or delivery of naval surface ships.
