You will serve as a Project Manager in the Waterfront Operations, Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) Project Office of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.
Duties
You will provide project management services in accordance with management direction and established SUPSHIP procedures.
You will be responsible to SUPSHIP Gulf Coast for effective contract administration.
You will be responsible for the overall management and technical control of all assigned projects.
You will conduct program management reviews and evaluate compliance with policy objectives and standards.
You will provide continuity and on-site technical consultations in all disciplines associated with the assigned projects and/or construction, conversion and repair of naval ships.
You will monitor overall effectiveness of operations, and provide assistance in the solution of specific management and technical problems.
You will recommend and plan improvements in organizational structure, manpower, staffing, personnel training, procedures, methods, and facilities.
You will maintain an up-to-date status of all contractual actions in work for assigned contracts and provide updates to the NAVSEA Program Office.
You will prepare and present weekly and monthly status reports to the Supervisor of Shipbuilding.
You will supervise assigned Project Office personnel.
You will evaluate work performance, approve leave, and solve problems related to work supervised.
You will plan, schedule and coordinate work operations.
Requirements

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing program or project requirements (e.g. contracting, resource allocation, manpower, strategic planning, risk assessments, project planning and schedules, workforce performance, budget planning, development and execution, process improvement, quality assurance, and financial management) to support construction, modernization, or maintenance projects of submarines or surface ships.
