About the Position: Serves as secretary and personal administrative assistant to the Director, Deputy Director, Logistics Exercise and Simulation Directorate (LESD). Performs a broad range of duties in accomplishing the Directorate missions/functions as outlined In the Organization Mission and Function Regulation.
Duties
Receives telephone calls and visitors to the organization.
Exercises a high degree of judgment and tact when inquiring as to the nature of the business of the caller and determining those who require the immediate, personal attention of the supervisor and those who may be referred to other
person.
Reviews documents prepared for signature of or requiring coordination by the Director for conformance with regulations, policies, grammar, format, referring back to action officer If these have not been followed.
Provides guidance and advice to other secretaries and action officers, suggesting format and composition changes.
Responds to requests for information concerning the organization's functions.
Arranges for conferences and ceremonies, Including matters such as location, schedule, agenda, and attendance list.
Establishes and maintains convenience files of policies, procedures, and correspondence, In current status for use In formulation of new or changes to existing policies and procedures.
Maintains, updates, and assists with the Brigade’s management of the Brigade’s Defense Travel System (DTS).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience performing administrative/clerical duties which include preparing a variety of written correspondence such as reports, memorandums, and information papers; utilizing office automation equipment and software such as EXCEL, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; maintaining organization calendar and scheduling meetings; screening visitors and calls for the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
