About the Position: Serves as the focal point in the office for the receipt and review of incoming tasking's, projects, correspondence and other communications or materials such as regulations, changes of policy and procedures, etc. Utilizes modern automation systems in the performance of assigned duties. Reviews correspondence and documents for conformance with regulations, grammar, format, and special policies of the office.
Duties
Coordinates or determines coordination required and monitors suspense’s to ensure timely completion.
Provides a broad range of management, administrative, and support.
Utilizes modern automation systems (hardware and software) in the performance of assigned duties.
Assembles materials for Assistant Commandant/DTC prior to attendance at meetings or field trips.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience assembling data for presentation, experience utilizing office software applications, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, controlling the materials and logistics of conferences, briefings and meetings, serving as primary timekeeper, entering timecards into Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS), and maintain files and various records of a personal and official nature such as appointment calendars.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
