About the Position: This position is located at Martin Army Community Hospital located on Fort Moore, Georgia. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized.

Duties

Oversee the administrative and procedural coordination of residency programs for all physicians-in-training. Ensure each program within the hospital is in administrative compliance for training. Conduct the annual graduation exercises, ensuring that arrangements are made for distinguished guest speakers and other distinguished guests, Maintain credential documentation for physicians in training. Use automation systems to maintain office and rosters to manage graduate medical education program. Ensure that program participants are fully clinically credentialed for their level of medical practice while in residency.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • This position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative support to a residency program for physicians in training; verifying credentialing requirements are met by residents; plans and organize annual graduation exercises; and utilizing databases to prepare report. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Medical Administration, Healthcare Administration or Medical Education OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementAttention to DetailData Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
