You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the FACILITIES ENG & ACQ DIVIVSION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will prepare contract documents (drawings, specifications, cost estimates) for CAT 3/4 construction and maintenance contracts. You will participate in acquisition planning conferences. You will create written technical documentation of engineering analysis work, data compilation, reports, or research using computer software applications. You will contribute to department efforts (e.g., strategic planning, business development) to meet mission goals.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • May be designated as ALPHA personnel and required to report for duty to provide support before, during and/or after special emergency situations, such as, but not limited to, destructive weather, disasters or periods of an increased security threat.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying extensive knowledge of various trades such as Mechanical, Electrical, Utilities, Structural, or Facility Maintenance; 2) Applying extensive knowledge of materials and manpower requirements for various tasks with little or no supervision; 3) Preparing technical specifications for procurements as well as task orders; 4) Attending meetings, site visits, and responding to request for information; 5) Completing technical analysis of contractor proposals; 6) Preparing Government estimates with little or no supervision; and 7) Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products and relevant databases.
