About the Position: Serves as the Assistant Course Manager for the Warrant Officer Professional Military Education courses in USAJFKSWCS, the Special Forces Warrant Officer Advanced Course (SFWOAC).
This position is located at the USAJFK SPECIAL WARFARE CENTER & SCHOOL in Fort Liberty, NC
Duties
Conducts classroom and field instruction for the Special Forces Warrant Officer Advanced Course (SFWOAC) to prepare midgrade Special Forces warrant officers to perform the duties of a Company Operations Warrant Officer on an SFOD-B
As a subject matter expert and primary instructor in Special Forces doctrine, and in conjunction with the Directorate of Training and Doctrine (DOTD) Training Development Division (TDD), develops training scenarios and lesson plans for the SFWOAC.
Coordinates and participates in cyclical field training exercises and off-site practical exercises.
Assists in the development of the SFWOAC course management plan, and POI Training Requirements and Analysis System (TRAS) documentation.
Serves as the subject matter expert focal point for all coordination with the Warrant Officer Education System institutions.
Participates substantially in course modifications through Critical Task Review Boards (CTRB) and/or Curriculum Review Boards (CRB).
Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on civilian education matters and mentors students and cadre on all civilian education opportunities.
Conducts research to ensures course materials reflect current ARSOF Doctrine, Training Leadership, Organization, Materiel and Soldiers (DTLOMS).
Monitors and evaluates student progress during assigned modules of training in the SFWOAC.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Temporary duty travel (TDY) is required 15% of the time.
- Incumbent will be required to work other than normal duty hours.
- Incumbent must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
- One year probationary period may be required, unless previously completed.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience: 1) Developing Program of Instruction (POI) or learning objectives with a concentration in Special Forces. 2) Experience with operational leadership, mentorship, and counseling in the Special Forces such as Special Forces Operational Detachment - Bravo level. 3) Updating course materials (e.g., curriculum, equipment, tactics or organizational structure) to resolve problems resulting from technological changes or new developments in the subject-matter field. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11 or above.
