You will serve as a Fire Apparatus, Fleet & Facilities Manager of COMNAVREG MIDLANT NORFOLK.

Duties

You will formulate recommendations on maintenance primarily based on analysis of field conditions. You will manage the Facilities Management and Sustainment Programs to provide products and services in support of its customers. You will verify compliance with all certifications, safety, fire prevention, and security program requirements.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

For The GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Prepares all required documentation to support urgent repair projects; Provides technical assistance through planning expertise on planning and development of more extensive repair and overhaul projects; Ensure plans and/or programs are executable, projects have been prioritized, resource limitations have been considered, available facilities and vendors are used optimally, and obstacles are identified; Establishes maintenance and operator training programs that address issues that reflect command priorities, and which support consistent fire and emergency services delivery. For The GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assessing and/or analyzing potential fleet and facility management and logistics problems; providing technical advice to installations, districts, and other stakeholders; consults with more senior staff on complex technical, logistics, planning, and financial issues; Planning and development of more extensive repair and overhaul projects; Establishing formal maintenance and operator training programs; coordination of logistics, maintenance, and repair projects; Evaluating and/or providing input into the establishment of command priorities, Liaison work, representing the agency, representing senior leadership Analyzing, presenting and/or defending program requirements; Developing strategies for complex, multi-point logistics requirements in the servicing and movement of vehicles and apparatus in the continental United States and globally. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For The GS-11:
Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR

Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. OR

Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. OR

Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
