You will serve as an Equipment Specialist Team Lead in the Maintenance Planning Department of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Logistics Center, Keyport Division, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania (NAVSEALOGCENKYPTDIVNUWC MECH PA) in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Duties

You will serve as a Team Lead for NSLC code 675 Distribution and Configuration Management, serving as the technical advisor and make a variety of technical equipment decisions that materially affect the readiness of the unit/system/equipment. You will be responsible for providing support to the Navy's Planned Maintenance System (PMS) encompassing all Electronic and Combat Systems and Hual Mechanical Equipment. You will evaluate and revise the technical aspects of broad equipment maintenance and logistics support plans. You will compose technical evaluations and reports to In-Service Engineering Activity personnel to stress technical points and recommendations when conflicts arise regarding assigned equipment. You will evaluate and revise the technical aspects of broad equipment maintenance and logistics support plans. You will be responsible for the production, publishing, and distribution of the PMS quarterly Force Revision.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) certification and Level 1 and 2.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing and coordinating Planned Maintenance System (PMS), Planned Maintenance System Management Information Systems (PMSMIS) technical and administrative requirements needed to ensure the readiness of shipboard equipment and systems. Examples of Qualifying Experience may include demonstrated technical knowledge of planned maintenance programs for Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical systems for all Navy ships, submarines, and designated shore activities; maintaining responsibilities and relationships among and between the various commands and activities involved in PMS, and the limits of the involvement of each, sufficient to recognize deviations from policy and the extent of assigned authority and responsibility; providing sound judgment in the gathering and analysis of data; determining the type and content of data required for making technical decisions; discriminating between good and less desirable data and alternatives; exercising tact, diplomacy, ingenuity, resourcefulness, and objectivity while performing assignments; accomplishing work effectively through others, maintaining harmonious relationships and reconciling divergent viewpoints while accomplishing objectives.
