About the Position: Serves as branch chief with responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising all branch activities. Serves as the branch focal point for all logistics and materiel readiness activities related to materiel development to include analysis and related documentation to support the overall planning and assessment process.
Duties
Initiate personnel actions, such as recruitment, selection, promotion, and disciplining of subordinates.
Assist in system sustainment design for the development of operations, maintenance, fielding, and lifecycle sustainment plans.
Monitor actions such as development, test implementation, supportability of materiel systems, coordination and development of functional and technical design, and resource requirements.
Analyze the development requirement specifications dealing with single function and multifunctional logistics systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time.
- Selectee will be required to obtain and maintain the Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (JCIDS) certification.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience such as developing and integrating doctrinal and training products involving supply, maintenance, and transportation materiel requirements and capabilities at the tactical and operational level, identifying potential solutions to operational capability gaps, reviewing capability development documentation and logistics user requirements for materiel systems, identifying current and future materiel logistics and supportability capabilities needed, assisting with supportability documentation for materiel solutions and related doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leader development, personnel, facilities and policy (DOTMLPF-P) analyses on logistics supportability functional areas.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
