The incumbent manages the Work Order Program, ensuring that maintenance and repair services are provided in the most cost-effective means possible. He/She makes routine decisions in the Work Order Program, enters equipment data, maintenance information, and ensures that equipment inventory records are accurate. He/She will provide statistical information regarding Work Orders.
Duties
The Work Order Coordinating Clerk (WOCC) manages the Work Order Program, ensuring that maintenance and repair services are provided in the most cost-effective means possible. The WOCC makes routine decisions in the Work Order Program, enters equipment data, maintenance information, and ensures that equipment inventory records are accurate. Receives trouble calls from throughout the hospital regarding maintenance and repair problems, many of which are emergency situations. Provide statistical information regarding Work Orders. The WOCC also monitors and reports time and attendance (T&A}, serving as backup timekeeper. Receives calls, greets visitors, and directs them to the appropriate personnel.

GS-05 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Enters, edits, transfers, closes scheduled & unscheduled work orders.
Receives calls, greets visitors, & directs them to the appropriate personnel.
Screens and refers calls for action and notifies appropriate shop.
Monitors & reports time & attendance (T&A).
Screens work assignments and coordinate workflows.

Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have Four (4) years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.

Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond the high school level (i.e. 6 months of specialized experience and 3 years of education above the high school level). NOTE: Only education beyond the second year can be used in combination with specialized experience to qualify for this grade.

Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary and places no special physical demands on the incumbent. Work assignments involve sitting at a computer terminal for hours at a time. The work requires some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as papers or books.
