About the Position: Fort Stewart/Hunter AAF is a southern living station of choice with great climate, easy commuting, no parking fees, good schools, and many surrounding historic sites. Fort Stewart is located approximately 42 miles from Savannah Georgia, one of America's most picturesque and historically rich cities.

Duties

You will serve as the staff assistant in the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP), Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield, GA. Responsible for providing administrative, clerical, and budget support that consists of using a wide variety of processes and methods. Incumbent serves as ASAP Administrative coordinator to all ASAP office locations. Independently oversee administrative and office operations and responds to issues and inquiries. Independently composes non-technical correspondence based on unwritten policies, precedents, and practices. Maintain office calendars and appointment/meeting schedules, arranging meetings, conferences and training events Receive and screen calls and visitors to the office, receiving and reviewing all incoming correspondence and preparing replies to general inquiries and routine actions. Monitor funding for office supplies, programs, contracts and travel. Identifies, compiles, consolidates, verifies, and organizes a wide variety of budgetary data relating to different appropriation accounts, object classes, and line items. Produce include correspondence, technical reports, briefings, tables, and forms. Uses various functions of several types of office automation systems such as word processing, databases, and front page software.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as, operations management; business administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementClericalTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-7).
