These positions are located at the Aleda Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan. The Program Support Assistant assigned to the Connected Care Program in the Assistant Medical Center Director's Service Line in the Local VAMC and is under the direct supervision of the Chief of Connected Care/Facility Telehealth Coordinator (FTC) /Nurse Manager.
Duties
Major duties of this position will include, but are not limited to:
Administrative Support Functions
Maintains calendar appointments for meetings, conference calls and other various scheduled activities.
Prepare travel requests, schedule conferences, coordinate meetings, and takes minutes of various meetings pertaining to the Connected Care Program or any future assignments or projects.
Submits requests for purchase of supplies that are required for the daily function of the Connected Care Program but more specifically the HT program and any associated Connected Care/MHV staff.
Orders necessary equipment for the care line, as assigned, and assists other service lines in ordering process for the Connected Care technology.
Connected Care Program Functions
Responsible for input of required data into Connected Care Programs utilizing various VHA databases within and outside the facility.
Compile and prepare accurate reports of pending consults, patient need, scheduling problems, as well as demand estimates.
Serves as a key contact for Connected Care Programs.
Discusses program areas with Chief of Connected Care/FTC/Nurse Manager or designee to identify and implement remedial action to be taken.
Follows through to ensure program requirements are met and planned action have been initiated and are effective.
Recommends and implements amendment of program procedures and practices as necessary.
Compiles data for provider monitors that include workload, wait times, missed opportunities, medical record completion, customer satisfaction, continuing education, and training requirements, as well as other data identified. This data is compiled on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis and recorded on a quarterly basis.
Assists management and patient care teams with ensuring timely completion of medical record.
Runs the Action Required report and filters the non-Responder report for HT program and maintains consistent communication with clinicians to clear incomplete visits, incomplete and no status encounters, and incorrect duplicate visits on a regular, ongoing basis.
Plays a major role in assisting the HT nurses in the performance of activities related to the program, including the discontinuation of authorized equipment, quality improvement processes, and suggestion of performance improvement strategies to program staff.
Work Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday, 07:30am to 4:00pm
Telework: May be approved on an Ad Hoc basis.

GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes:
Submitting requests for purchase of supplies that are required for daily function;
Organizing, maintaining, and revising relevant materials and documents for surveys and other purposes;
Preparing materials for publication such as pamphlets, certificates forms, graphs, technical manuals, or comparable items;
Assisting the department nurses in the performance of activities related to the program, including the discontinuation of authorized equipment, quality improvement processes, and suggestion of performance improvement strategies to program staff;
Recommending and implementing amendment of program procedures and practices as necessary.
There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.
