You will serve as an Intelligence Specialist at the GG-13/Band 3 level. This position is located at NIMITZ OPERATIONAL INTELLIGENCE CENTER.
All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Duties
You will collect, analyze, interpret, evaluate, and integrate complex data from multiple sources in assessing the relevance, significance, patterns, tactics, and trends directly related to narcotics, and drug trafficking organizations.
You will plan, implement, and maintain data bases for intelligence assignments required to process all-source material and the production of technical or operational intelligence in his/her assigned area(s).
You will provide tailored maritime intelligence support to non-traditional customers including federal law enforcement, DoD counter drug forces, foreign military and law enforcement agencies.
You will maintain liaison with personnel in other intelligence agencies, laboratories, services, and allied foreign governments to discuss production requirements and provide information.
You will present and defend activity positions or issues in your area(s) of expertise at interagency and/or international meetings and conferences.
Requirements

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
- This position may requires a 2-Year DCIPS trial period requirement.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Expertly evaluate and integrate all-source intelligence information to produce/contribute to tailored intelligence products in response to customer requirements;
Prepare and produce initiative reports and briefs for executive level audience, such as the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Counternarcotics and stabilization Policy (DASD CN/SP), that demonstrate extensive knowledge and comprehensive subject matter analytical expertise;
Provide technical advice on a wide range of civil maritime analysis, evaluation, collection, interpretation and dissemination of information and products relative to one or more foreign countries;
Identify and/or provide for the resolution of intelligence gaps, prepare for, or satisfy collection requirements to resolve gaps, evaluate and/or facilitate reporting from collectors in response to requirements, and provide feedback and guidance to field elements that support analytical elements.
